what happens to leaders under the pressure of facing “hard times”?
while it might be a bleak situation that we find ourselves in given our nation’s economy, I truly believe the it will be an opportunity for every leader and developing leader to rise to the occasion. this will be a time when people head towards ‘THE BEST”. I heard a commentary recently that I agree with; “when times get tough, people sift through all the options and choose the best”.
are you preparing yourself to be a leader in the hard times?
- what key skills do you bring to the table?
- do you have an irreplaceable attitude and contribution to your cause?
- is your vision WHITE HOT?
- do you know how to get there?
- are others depending on you? if so, are you ready to deliver?
- can you deliver with limited resources? (think creatively!)
- are you too dreamy & not action oriented enough?
- do you know how to outsource? network? build teams? build alliances? build win/win scenarios?
- are you able to associate yourself with the core missional items of your business or organization?
don’t waste your time with things on the fringe, but be ready to deliver on the essentials. strive to set yourself apart with excellence in your work. learn how to network with the strategic resources necessary for your cause. NEGOTIATE everything! — it just might go your way. be ready to do multiple projects, jobs and work on different things than before.
